Weekend at Chali Beach Resort (Cagayan de Oro City)

My family and I spent the weekend (June 19-20, 2010) in Cagayan de Oro City.
After buying some stuff at SM City and Lim Ket Kai, we checked in at Chali Beach Resort and Conference Center located in Zone 3, Cugman, Cagayan de Oro City.
Chali Beach Resort is only about 15 minutes away from downtown Cagayan de Oro, making it ideal for those who want to stay in a resort ambiance without getting too far away from the city proper.

The road going to the resort is almost fronting the entrance of Alwana Village/Marco Hotel along the national highway. It is not that hard to find since there is a huge billboard of the resort along the highway road junction. Look for this signages once you are in Zone 3 Cugman road then make a left turn to the resort's entrance/gate:

A huge acacia tree looms over the reception area building:

Located near the reception area is the children's playground:

A few steps from the children's playground are cages with some birds inside. This is one close-up shot of the bird I was able to take:

This is the hotel building where we booked our room:

I wasn't able to take a picture of our room before we "messed" it up so I grabbed this pic from the  resort's oficial website www.chalibeach.com. Our room exactly looked like this:

The room is really spacious that I think it could accommodate 10 persons comfortably. It has one double bed and one single bed. The bathroom is clean with hot and cold shower. The room is fully-air conditioned, with cable TV. Reception is spotty though and you have to make a 200 peso-refundable deposit so you can borrow its remote control. The regular rate for this Superior Room is  P1,850.00 but since they gave us a 20% discount, we paid only P1,480.00. Plus it comes with a free breakfast for 2 so I really thought we get our money's worth.

Aside from the hotel rooms, these are the other types of accommodation of Chali Beach Resort:

Deluxe Cabanas with porches facing the Macajalar Bay:
Deluxe Cabanas-P2,950.00 per night

Superior and Standard Bungalows which are a few steps away from the swimming pool:
Standard and Superior Bungalows with rates of P1,850.00 and P2,650.00, respectively.
This is the Prayer Lodge near the hotel building:

Also near the hotel is the Palm Bay Spa:

  1. Hey! I'm planning on booking Cha-Li for my November trip in CDO.. but they seem to not reply through email. How can you get a hold of them, aside from calling them on their landline numbers? I wanted to not spend on calls, as I'm residing in Quezon City.. Any help or suggestion will be greatly appreciated! Many thanks!

  2. @mai: have you tried booking through their website (www.chalibeach.com)? the contact numbers in their flyers did not include any cellphone numbers so if they haven't replied through your email then I guess there is no other way but to contact them through their landline numbers: (088) 855-2108; 855-5941; 855-5942; (08822) 732840.
