Where to Eat in Cagayan de Oro City: Roy's Bistro

Last weekend, my wife and I joined the 5th Freedom Run in Cagayan de Oro City. We arrived at the City of Golden Friendship the night before the race and after checking in at Plaza Star Business Hotel in Divisoria, we immediately look for some place to eat our dinner.

We spotted Roy's Bistro not too far from our accommodation. Roy's Bistro originates from Bukidnon and has branches in the cities of Valencia and Malaybalay. I was pleasantly surprised to know that they already expanded in Cagayan de Oro City. Since we haven't tried eating in any of their branches yet, we decided to have our dinner there.

Roy's Bistro Cagayan de Oro branch is located along Tirso Neri Street in Divisoria. It is situated in-between Cecil's Bakeshop and Lexy's Kitchen.  This branch opened last March 2014 and I think it is already a hit among Kagay-anons since the place is full of customers when we got there. Fortunately, we found a vacant table near the entrance.

The 1st floor has a narrow area but the second floor is more spacious. It is a self-service resto where customers need to fall in line to place and pay for their order. The interiors are tastefully decorated with huge images of their food prominently displayed on the walls.

Roy's Bistro served affordable food and budget meals. No wonder customers keep coming in and out of the store. Here's a zoomed shot of their menu. As you can see, no item go beyond 200 pesos.

We ordered Grilled Fish Kebab, Chicken Fillet and Fresh Fruits. The food was served in less than 10 minutes.

Grilled Fish, P99.00 with rice and iced tea

Chicken Fillet , P89.00 (may be shared by 2-3 persons)

Fresh Fruits, P59.00 (may be shared by 2 persons)

The food we ordered all tasted great and serving portions are fairly generous. Roy's Bistro, indeed, lived up to its tag line of Good Food, Tastes Good! And with its very affordable price and customer-friendly service, Roy's Bistro definitely offers the best value for your hard-earned money.

Roy's Bistro Location Map:

  1. Food from Roy's Bistro doesn't taste that great. I recommend you to try Cecil's instead or Butcher's Best. Well there are lots of places you can go in Cagayan de Oro to enjoy good food.

  2. Yes, I totally agree with you, Roy' Bistro doesn't only have a very good taste but also great customer service. My family and I had always been there and my favorite menu there is sizzling Bangus, this food is worth to pay.
