Stopover at DPWH View Deck in Maluko, Manolo, Fortich, Bukidnon

The topography of my home province Bukidnon is characterized by an extensive plateau bordered by mountainous areas. When traversing the national highway, mountain ranges can be seen on both the right and left sides of the road. On some portions, deep and wide canyons can be seen from the roadside which add to Bukidnon's rugged charm. And one spot where some of the Bukidnon canyons can be seen is at the DPWH View Deck situated in Sitio Angeles, Maluko, Manolo Fortich, Bukidnon.

During a trip with my family and in laws to Cagayan de Oro City last Christmas Day, we made a stopover in this popular observation deck. It is built and maintained by the Department of Public Works and Highways Bukidnon 3rd Engineering District. The place provides respite from a long journey as there are cottages built for travelers to rest, relax and enjoy the scenery.

A few steps away from the DPWH View Deck is a stall selling steamed sweet corn. These corn are freshly harvested from Bukidnon's fertile agricultural lands. It is a filling and healthy snack to munch on while enjoying the view of Bukidnon canyons.
