Bukidnon: Kaamulan Festival 2015 Schedule of Activities (Tentative)

This year's Kaamulan Festival will be held on October 1 to 31, 2015. Kaamulan Festival is an ethnic cultural festival celebrated annually in Malaybalay City, Bukidnon. It is held to celebrate the culture and tradition of the seven ethnic tribal groups that originally inhabit the province—Bukidnon, Higaonon, Talaandig, Manobo, Matigsalug, Tigwahanon and Umayamnon.  Kaamulan Festival is considered as the only ethnic festival in the Philippines.

Kaamulan comes from the Binukid word “amul” meaning to gather. Kaamulan is gathering for a purpose—a datuship ritual, a wedding ceremony, a thanksgiving festival during harvest time, a peace pact, or all of these together.

The Provincial Tourism of Bukidnon recently released on its Facebook Page the tentative Schedule of Activities of Kaamulan Festival 2015. Kindly click the photos below to view the larger images.
