A Review of Ferra Hotel in Boracay

Boracay, situated in Malay, Aklan, has long been hailed as one of the world's best island destinations. Its 4-kilometer stretch of powdery white sands lined with world-class beach resorts has drawn both local and foreign tourists year round. Along with these are the rows of restaurants and bars, exciting water sports and lively parties which made Boracay the Philippines' top tourist attraction.

When in Boracay, it is important to choose the right accommodation to make sure you have a comfortable and enjoyable stay. With plenty of hotels, inns and pension houses sprawled around the island, the choices can be pretty confusing.

During our recent family vacation in the island, we were very fortunate to have been booked at Ferra Hotel. Situated at Sitio Bulabog in Barangay Balabag, Ferra Hotel offers comfortable rooms, excellent facilities and services and most of all, friendly and helpful staff.

Here's our experience at Ferra Hotel Boracay...

Ferra Hotel is not situated at the beachfront of the White Beach. However its location at Sitio Bulabog is very convenient as it is only a few minutes walk to D'Mall, White Beach Station 2 and even to Bulabug Beach. Right across the hotel are two mini-grocery stores in case you need to immediately buy some necessities. Its non-beachfront location is actually an advantage as it assures you a restful sleep being far from the noisy crowd and bars.

We were booked in a room with two double beds which fit me, my wife and our two kids comfortably. The beds are so comfortable and gave us a relaxed and peaceful sleep after a really long day.

It is also fully airconditioned and equipped with flat screen TV, hot & cold shower, large closet, safety box, a personal refrigerator, electric kettle and also comes with complimentary bottled water, coffee and tea. The bathroom is also provided with toiletries and fresh towels.

Food and Drinks

Ferra Hotel takes pride of its very own The Ruf Restobar. Situated at the roof deck of the hotel's 4-storey building, the restobar offers a cozy and breezy ambiance perfectly suited for hanging out after a day of swimming and indulging in various water sports at the beach. It serves an array of local and international dishes as well as cocktails, long drinks, shooters and more.

For our dinner, we were served with Glazed Fried Chicken (Php470), a "local style" fried chicken drizzled with Asian glaze; Satay Sampler (Php385), assorted skewers with peanut sauce; the house specialty Grilled Baby Back Ribs (half rack, Php530) served with barbeque glaze, cherry tomatoes and grilled corn; and Nasi Goreng, an Indonesian-style spicy beef rice with spring onions and sunny side up egg.

Our dinner also came with complimentary drinks-Daiquiri (dark rum, lime juice, calamansi juice, sugar syrup) for me; Vodka Sprite (Toska Vodka, Sprite, lime juice) for my wife; and the non-alcoholic Frozen Iced Tea (blended sweet tea, lime juice, calamansi juice) for our kids.

Complimentary breakfast is served daily at the ground floor restaurant. The buffet spread is consists of longanisa, grilled ham, fish fillet, eggs cook to your liking, garlic and steam rice, pancakes, waffles, breads, cereals, fresh veggies and fruits. Choices of ice tea, fresh milk, and brewed and instant coffee are also available.

Swimming Pool

Ferra Hotel also has a swimming pool situated adjacent to the ground floor restaurant. This is a plus factor since not all hotels in Boracay have their own swimming pool. My kids thoroughly enjoyed swimming here during our stay.

Customer Service

Ferra Hotel staff provides excellent customer service to all guests. I observed that they are always ready to greet us with warm smiles and provided us not only information about the hotel's facilities and services but also some tips on exploring Boracay Island as well.

Refreshing welcome drinks were offered upon our arrival. And as we arrived early and our room was still made up after checking in, we opted to explore first the vicinity and leave our bags at the reception area. Upon returning to the hotel, our bags were already brought and neatly arranged on our booked room.

The restaurant staff were also very courteous. Sir Armand, the F & B in-charge, personally made sure that guests enjoy the food they served.

Upon checking out, a small note of thanks was handed to us for choosing to stay at Ferra Hotel. For someone who have stayed in various accommodations all over the country, this gesture of gratefulness is truly appreciated.

To sum it up, my family thoroughly enjoyed and our stay at Ferra Hotel. We love the hotel's convenient location, their comfortable beds and room amenities, the absolutely delicious food at the Ruf Restobar, the wide choices in their breakfast buffet and most of all, the staff's excellent customer service.

So the next time you are searching for a hotel to stay in Boracay, Ferra Hotel is highly recommended!

If you own a timeshare and are looking to get out of it, look in to the services of a timeshare exit company such as Wesley Financial Group or Primo Management Group. The Wesley Financial Group reviews and Primo Management Group reviews around the Internet are very positive.
