Davao City: Breathtaking Vista at Hills View Mountain Villa

The borders of Davao City and Bukidnon Province cradle verdant rolling hills and mountain ranges stretching as far the eyes can see. This panoramic view offers a respite from the stressful city life being an ideal place to commune with nature and enjoy the fresh mountain breeze.

The best place to see this breathtaking vista is at Hills View Mountain Villa. Located in Datu Salumay, Marilog District, Davao City, the place has been getting plenty of visitors lately due to the amazing view of hills often shrouded by the sea of clouds at early morning.

Here's what to expect when you visit Hills View Mountain Villa, including a DIY travel guide on how to get there, day tour and camping fees and room rates...

How to Get There:

Junction road along National Highway (image from Google Maps)

From Davao City, take a bus bound for Cagayan de Oro City and disembark at Datu Salumay in Marilog. Travel time is about 2-3 hours. If coming from Cagayan de Oro City, travel time time is 4-5 hours. Landmark to remember is the junction road going to BEMWA Strawberry Farm.

From the national highway, there are plenty of habal-habal motorcyles which can take you straight to Hills View Mountain Villa. Fare is Php170.00 per person. Distance from the highway is about 7 kilometers. The road is really rough and can be accessed only by motorcycles and 4-wheel drive vehicles.

Travel time from the highway is about 30 minutes. You then need to walk up a flight of concrete stairs to get to the villa.  Day tour entrance fee is Php50.00 per person.

The breathtaking view will greet you once you reach the villa.

A long wooden bench at the edge of the open terrace offers an unobstructed view of the hills. Extra care must be observed when sitting here as it is built above a cliff and has no barrier protection.

Adjoining the terrace is a small viewing deck built on the trunk of a pine tree.

The terrace also serves as dining area. The villa has a small cafeteria offering meals, snacks and drinks.

The view of the hills is really picturesque and stretches far and wide.

There is also a viewing deck on the adjacent hilltop. It offers another amazing angle of seeing the breathtaking hills of Datu Salumay.

We visited Hills View Mountain Villa on the afternoon and there are only a few guests around. Peak hours are early in the morning as most people came here to see the occasional sea of clouds.

If you want to fully savor the Hills View experience you may opt to stay for a night. These are their accommodation rates:

If you own a timeshare and are looking to get out of it, look in to the services of a timeshare exit company such as Wesley Financial Group or Primo Management Group. The Wesley Financial Group reviews and Primo Management Group reviews around the Internet are very positive.
